Summit hike to Lille Finsenut

From Finsehytta, follow Rallarvegen westward. Cross the railway line over the tunnel and take the small unmarked path straight up towards Lille Finsenut. Follow the path around the right side of the mountain and into the gap between Lille and Store Finsenut. When the gap levels out, head straight for the summit. Here, you'll get a fantastic view of Hallingskarvet, Hardangerjøkulen, and the Finse area. This hike is perfect for both morning and evening trips.

Roundtrip to Jomfrurunden (Jomfrunuten)

A great hike if you have a couple of hours before the train. Follow the path towards Geiterygghytta and turn off at the signposted junction towards Jomfrurunden, following the markers on the stones up to Jomfrunuten. At the top, you'll find an information board where you can learn more about the landscape around Finse. From Jomfrunuten, the trail goes down to the path from Raggsteindalen. This hike is well-suited for children and offers beautiful views over Finse.

Hike to Kyrkjedøri

Kyrkjedøri is one of the most prominent landmarks in Skarvheimen. This pass is not only clearly visible, but you can also feel it. Like an open door, it channels the wind through Hallingskarvet.

Summit hike to Sandalsnuten

Sandalsnuten is located at 1554 meters above sea level in Hallingskarvet National Park. This is a great hike with several alternative routes. To get up, follow the marked trail towards Klemsbu/Geiteryggen, and turn right up towards Sandalsnuten before the summer bridge. The trail is not marked from here. Once you are at the top, you can return the same way or continue towards Finse via Jomfrunuten and join the trail from Raggsteindalen.

Klemsbu og Sankt Pål

A recommended hike on a sunny day. Follow the T-marked trail towards Geiterygghytta. Klemsbu is located at approximately 1600 meters above sea level. There is no service at Klemsbu during the summer. The cabin is locked, but it is nice to sit in the sun outside. When you reach Klemsbu, it's worth hiking up to Sankt Pål (1695 meters above sea level) if the weather is good. Beautiful views in all directions. There is a summer bridge on the way to Klemsbu. This is laid out at the beginning of the summer season and removed before Finsehytta closes in the autumn.

  • TIME: 6 hours
  • ELEVATION GAIN: 450 meter

Brevandring på Blåisen

Explore the majestic Blåisen just 5 km from Finsehytta, where you can experience the glacier with water flowing out from its impressive edge. Cross the dam at Finsevatn and follow the red T-markings. Do not walk on the glacier without glacier equipment.

For those who wish to experience the glacier more closely, we also offer guided tours on Blåisen. Read more about these tours here.

Langs Rallarvegen til fots

Rallarvegen is not only great for cycling – it's also a fantastic walk with many fun experiences! It is also perfect for walking with a stroller. You can walk as long as you like, and if you want a longer trip, you can walk around the lake on the way back.

Experience Rallarvegen - Norway's most beautiful cycling tour

There are few cycling routes as spectacular as Rallarvegen, with its stunning mountain scenery, rivers, and waterfalls passing under beautiful bridges built in the early 1900s.
